With the coronavirus epidemic reaching unprecedented levels, the governments social services have faced a crisis of legitimacy, in addition to the economic pressure.
While many of the countries social services are facing difficulties due to the outbreak, some of the most recent developments are highlighting some of them, including the case of the Social Security Agency (PSA) of Spain.
In addition to facing financial problems, the PSA was set up to protect the welfare of Spanish citizens and in doing so, it has faced some of its worst controversies in recent years.
However, despite its struggles, the social services of Spain have managed to continue functioning despite the financial hardships, with the exception of a few areas.
Below is a list of some of those areas where the PSAs social services struggled to function, and the reasons why.
