The new tax law in Portugal will force the football clubs to register with the country’s tax office.
Under Portuguese law, all football clubs in the country must register with their respective football association, and if they don’t they will face fines.
The tax office can collect money from clubs who don’t register, but clubs can also pay fines to the tax office if they’re caught failing to do so.
According to the website of the National Association of Football Clubs (Consejo Nacional da Fútbol), all clubs have to register on December 1st.
The new tax legislation will come into effect from the 1st of March 2018.
